Who is Dianne?

At the beginning of 2021, Dianne Eldridge started her current position as Worldwide Business Development Leader at Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Industrial AI/Machine Learning. Before this post, Dianne spent 21 years with Emerson, a global engineering and manufacturing Fortune 500 company, as Executive Director of Strategic Business Unit. Dianne had the global responsibilities of a multi-hundred-million-dollar manufacturing portfolio in the US, China, and Italy. She was part of the executive leadership team of the complete Actuation business. Previously, Dianne also worked as leaders of various functions in different world areas including Application Engineering in Canada, Business Development in Singapore, Operations, and Global Product Management in the US.

Dianne Eldridge is a 2011 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin MBA program. She also holds two bachelor’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Commerce from China and Canada.

Tell us more about your role in Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Lead, launch and scale of Industrial AI/ML Services | Focus on AI/Machine learning based solutions to enable Predictive Maintenance. | AWS for Industrial : Digitize, monitor, and optimize your industrial operations. https://aws.amazon.com/industrial/

Work backwards from the customer to define, build, and execute go-to-market strategies for new and emerging AI/ML services worldwide which turn AWS ideas into multi-billion dollar businesses.

What is the most difficult part of your job? But the most rewarding one?

Most difficult: organization navigation and effective collaboration. Amazon is giant startup. Fast paced, small teams are encouraged to speed up innovation. However, it could be very challenging at times to build cross function collaboration.

Most Rewarding: using cutting edge technologies to solve real problems across all industries and the globe.

Is there anything that you would change about your professional path?

Yes. I wish I’d explored more options and changes in my early career.

What’s your key strategy for the development of your company?

  • Customer obsessed.
  • Constant innovate, reInvent, scale and repeat.

What do you think about the next period of time, keeping in mind the pandemic and the new business climate? How will your industry be affected?

Economy is slowing down and uncertain. Just like during pandemic, consumer leaned in on-line consumption and powered high-tech companies super growth. I believe the industries will lean into technologies to gain efficiency, improve productivity, and discover new business revenue models.

What books do you have on your nightstand?

My native language is mandarin Chinese. In my spare time, I read period Chinese novels to relax and escape.
