Who is Paul?
I am a family man who is blessed with a wonderful wife, and two beautiful daughters. I love hanging out with friends, drinking quality wine, and always trying to live every day to its fullest.
Tell us more about your role in NEU Community.
I am the Chief Operating Officer for Neu Community and have the pleasure to manage a wide range of focus areas including Technology (CTO), Customer Services (CSO), and Sales / Partnerships (CRO). Currently, my focus is enabling key partnerships to become part of the Neu Community family. My average day has me juggling key strategic partnerships covering key areas like Smart Home, Smart lighting, EV Mobility, and Solar / Battery solutions.
What is the most difficult part of your job? But the most rewarding one?
As with many early-stage companies as a leader, you must work across many functional areas and always keep an eye on what has the most business impact. Despite the ever-changing priorities, I get to work on a project that is ‘once in a lifetime. To be part of something that has the potential to provide affordable housing, a technology-enriched community that is eco-sustainable and focused on being part of something that is greater than any individual is very satisfying.
Is there anything that you would change about your professional path?
I probably would not change anything as I believe all my prior roles have made me the person I am today. I truly believe that you have to keep pushing yourself to learn new things and even roles that were a mistake help you to be a better person.
What’s your key strategy for the development of your company?
Firstly, it has to be acknowledged that our CEO Jonathan Jenkins and his co-founder had this truly game-changing vision of how we could disrupt the building industry with modular homes and a true focus on building communities that people of all backgrounds can live in. The strategy for the organization is to deliver on that vision and ensure that we can deliver our ‘Neu’ way of living as soon as humanly possible!
What do you think about the next period of time, keeping in mind the pandemic and the new business climate? How will your industry be affected?
There is no question that the housing market is being impacted by the current macroeconomic dynamics. That said, Neu has a solution to address the housing affordability challenge, and our first communities which are in Austin TX benefit from the continued growth being seen here
Please name a few technologies which have the greatest impact on your business.
We have a wide range of use cases being developed for our communities and while we have some core technologies like Cloud and IOT being deployed, we continue to explore new areas of mobility focused on EV.
